If you are already involved in amateur theatre or thinking about becoming so, hoping to break into the business as a professional, have a youngster who has ambitions in that direction, or who is about to audition for a place at drama school or on a performing arts course, a little one-to-one coaching can work wonders. You will do so much better if you know some relaxation exercises to calm you down and some physical and vocal warm-up exercises to do so you go into the audition in the right frame of mind and with your nerves under control. We can also look at your choice of audition piece to make sure it is a suitable one and work on it systematically until you achieve the best possible standard of performance.
Former students have been successful in gaining offers from: The University of Bristol, Mountview, The American Academy of Dramatic Art, Northbrook College (Worthing), the Academy of Creative Training (Brighton) and the National Youth Theatre.
Here are a couple of quotes from "thank yous" I have received:
"Maggie, thanks so much for your help." (Kate, student at the Academy of Creative Training, Brighton)
"Hi Maggie, I don't know if you remember me or not. You taught me about a year ago. I was just writing to say, I'm now in my second year at the American Academy and it's been a really great experience here. The school is great, Los Angeles is a really cool city and I was just writing to say thankyou for your help, and the stuff you taught me has been really useful so thankyou. Well take care, Dan." (Student at American Academy of Dramatic Art, Los Angeles)
"Your acting lessons must have helped because I have been in London since September studying Foundation in Acting at Mountview! It's an evening course, so I also have to work full time during the day, but I'm hoping it's put me in a good position for reapplying for a BA this year.
I hope you are well, and look forward to hearing from you.
Best Wishes,
Tammy" (Student at Mountview)
